Can I apply for Your First Home now?

No. The scheme has been announced, but the Government has said full details, costs and implementation timelines will be confirmed at the Budget.

Is Your First Home the same as First Homes?

No. First Homes is an existing discounted home ownership scheme. Your First Home is the newly announced government-backed equity loan scheme.

Will I definitely only need a 2.5% deposit?

The Government says the scheme is expected to support deposits from 2.5%. Final eligibility, mortgage and lender requirements have not yet been published.

How much could the Government lend me?

The announced proposal includes a government-backed equity loan of up to 20% of the purchase price. The amount available to an individual buyer will depend on the final scheme rules and their circumstances.
